We were pleased to see our primary customer Waitrose awarded
Best Retailer in Compassion in World Farming’s Good Farm Animal Welfare awards.
The supermarket marked the occasion – the fifth time they
have received the prestigious Best Retailer Award, and the twelfth CIWF award
in total – by releasing a series of photographs from their supply chain.
The Good Farm Animal Welfare Awards – among the most important
welfare recognitions in the industry - recognise and reward producers,
manufacturers and retailers across the world for working in a "sustainable
and responsible" way.
Waitrose Agriculture Director Heather Jenkins said: “This
award is an extraordinary and powerful testament to the commitment of many
colleagues, our farmers and our supply chain partners.
“It demonstrates the
strength of collaborative working to ensure our high standards of animal
welfare are maintained.
“We are absolutely
delighted that these efforts have been recognised and proud to be able to share
some beautiful photographs of those at the heart of this win - our animals and
our farmers.”
We are pleased to see Waitrose once again receive such a well-deserved
accolade – especially for a fifth time – and are pleased that our Cattle
Connect scheme is among the supply chains recognised by this award.
