Dovecote Park bespoke venison facility wins at RIBDA awards

We were delighted to see S+A Fabrications - with whom we have worked on several industrial design projects - receive the Industrial award at the RIBDA awards on March 15th. The award recognised their outstanding work on our bespoke Venison and Lairage Processing Facility.

We were delighted to see our venison facilities recognised at the RIBDA awards held in Nottingham last week.

Our construction partners, S+A Fabrications – whom we previously worked with on our Skellingthorpe lairage - were awarded the Industrial sector award for their work on our bespoke Venison and Lairage Processing Facility.

The facilities, which comprise lairage, handling facilities and a wood-clad external structure, complete with deer-head graphic on all sides, were constructed during 2017 and began operations in October 2017. They were officially opened by Rob Collins, Managing Director of Waitrose, in March 2018 as the first British deer season with the new premises came to a close.

The awards are issued bi-annually by the Rural and Industrial Design and Building Association (RIBDA) and were hosted this year by Lucy Cooke, of BBC Springwatch fame. The ceremony took place at the De Vere East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham on Friday 15th March.

A total of 33 industrial projects were named as finalists at the awards ceremony, with winners announced in eight separate sectors.

The finalists were said to have showcased ‘innovative and revolutionised work that has been recognised within the industrial and agricultural building industry’ and to have shown ‘outstanding individual achievements throughout their projects’.

We would like to heartily congratulate S+A Fabrications on having their hard work recognised. As a business who has been at the forefront of the venison sector for many years, we take great pride in seeing our bespoke venison facilities as the recipient of an important industry award! We would also like to extend our thanks to all our technical, training and lairage staff for their work throughout the construction and operation of the facilities.
